More outgoing mail..

I've found a lot of great random craft supplies lately at Target like round Kraft labels and won an auction on ebay for a lot of 100 vintage international stamps, both which I think really add to the design of the envelopes I've been making recently. Here are two examples, one sent out to Chicago a couple weeks ago and another to Canada today.

More outgoing mail..

Some mail I've sent out in the past week. A letter to Texas, a letter to Canada, a postcard to Taiwan, a package to LA, an envelope to Indiana, and another one to Virginia. I think this has been my most productive month of mail to date which is exciting. I'm going to need more stamps soon!

Outgoing!

I've been physically and emotionally drained lately, but I've been trying to find a source of relaxation. The combination of listening to music while writing letters, making mail art, and collages has been nice but it takes me forever to make each of them. Literally hours on each piece because I'm a perfectionist and just want the receiver to truly enjoy every detail.

It took about three weeks to receive my order from Blitsy, but it was worth it.
Blitsy is basically like Groupon goods, specifically for arts and crafts materials, ranging from paper goods to paint and clay. They have limited amounts of each item and often run out even before the three day flash sale ends. It's definitely worth checking out because their prices are compatible to wholesale since it's online. My only slight gripe about the service is very slow delivery and the fact that they use UPS surepost which means UPS leaves your package with your local post office defeating the purpose in my opinion.

Just wanted to post an update of a few envelopes I've made and some mail I've sent out in August.

The Idiot Box

I'm not a huge fan of tv in general, but in the past couple of months, I've watched shows I didn't have time for in the past. This includes American Horror Story seasons 1-3, Bates Motel seasons 1+2, The Walking Dead seasons 1-3, the last season of Breaking Bad, The Mindy Project seasons 1+2, Hit and Miss (UK), Ray Donovan, the current season of Master Chef, Orange is the New Black, and Food Network Star. I'm thinking of starting Orphan Black, Hemlock Grove, and possibly giving Lost Girl another shot.

I really enjoyed Hit and Miss with Chloe Sevigny. The premise is unique and interesting because she's a transgendered assassin who becomes the legal guardian of four children from her ex. Definitely disappointing that it only had one season because it would've been interesting to see how the story would progress. Of course OITNB is amazing, Bates Motel is always suspenseful, and Ray Donovan is better than expected (started watching for Kate Moennig's character).

What are your favorite shows (cancelled or not)?

My favorite cancelled ones have to be My So Called Life, Party Down, Freaks and Geeks, The Class, Wonderfalls, Related, and a lot more that I can't remember off the top of my head.

Early Retirement

The past two years have been insane but I'm thankful to be strong enough to still be around despite the lack of support from friends and family. The people I've been closest to in my entire life have basically given up because my medical conditions are too stressful for THEM. Anyway, enough about what I can't change. I'm taking this downtime to focus on the things that will help me pass the time, distract myself from the negative, and express myself. This basically means tv/movies/youtube, reading anything I can get my hands on, writing and sending mail, drawing/doodling, cooking, and whatever else I feel like doing when I have the energy.

This blog will now cover reviews of whichever form of media I've been viewing, photos of whatever I've made or have been working on, random conversations and observations, and my hopes/dreams/goals for the future.

I welcome comments, suggestions and recommendations of any sort, and correspendence if you'd like to be in touch.

Here are a few letters (two international and two domestic) that I've worked on during the long weekend which were sent out today. One's being sent out to Japan, the Philippines, Colorado, and Georgia.
I'd be working on more, but I ran out of envelopes and can't find my stencil since the move a few months ago.

And an older one I sent out last year to Canada.
